Contingent Workers Limitations in Oracle

User Rating: / 0

Oracle Applications 11.5.10 onwards, provides the functionality to maintain and track Contingent Workers separately as a different Person Type.

Normally, the CW (Contingent Workers) were tracked as EMP System person type and a user person type which was defined for organizations needs.

Now, the CW can be defined as a CWK system person type. Following are some of the key features of the Contingent Worker functionality in Oracle.

  • A contingent worker is a worker who does not have a direct employment relationship with your enterprise and is typically a self–employed individual or an agency supplied worker.
  • Oracle HRMS enables you to keep your contingent worker transactions entirely separate from employee transactions.
  • There are two system person types of Contingent worker and Ex–contingent worker
  • Using security profiles you can give users access to contingent worker records only.
  • You can create a separate version of some Oracle HRMS windows to cater specifically for contingent workers using CustomForm.
  • The contingent worker assignment relates contingent workers to their work structures.
  • When you create a new contingent worker a default contingent worker assignment is created.
  • Instead of creating a per_periods_of_services record, it will create a per_periods_of_placement record for CWs.
  • Oracle HRMS enables you to record the rates at which you are charged for the services of a contingent worker.
  • When a contingent worker leaves your enterprise you end the placement.
  • You can revert a contingent worker to a previous person type by using the action type Cancel Placement.
  • CW functionality comes with seeded CW Self Service menus for SSHR applications.
